Where to go and what to do in Steamboat:
Get cozy in this beautiful mountain town! Here are a few suggestions for lodging in Steamboat Springs:
The Steamboat Grand (mountain)
Rabbit Ears Motel (downtown)
Sheraton Steamboat (mountain)
The Bristol Hotel (downtown)
Columbine Cabins (about 45 minutes from Steamboat in the summer, add 15 minutes in the winter) are rustic cabins in a beautiful location, cross country skiing and hiking out the door, nearby to lakes. Car rental needed to access, no public bus lines to Clark.

Steamboat is home to year-round adventure! Depending on the season, here is a short list of the activities you can find:
Skiing at Steamboat Ski Resort - Ikon Pass
Skiing at Howelsen Hill (local in town mountain)
Old Town Hot Springs for a downtown option for soaking, relaxing, and a fitness center.
Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a favorite! There Is a shuttle from town, or you need a AWD vehicle to reach It. Worth the trip! Schedule ahead for any add-ons, they only accept cash and you need a reservation for a soak time.
Snowshoeing on Rabbit Ears (Loop A) is a favorite - get all of your rental needs at local Ski Haus, also a retail store for outdoor clothing and shoes.
Fish Creek Falls for hiking and snowshoeing
Mad Creek Trail for a shorter hike, opens earlier in the season than other spots because of sun exposure, closed during the winter.
The Zirkel Circle for an amazing backpacking experience (2 nights) or an all-day hike (6-8 hours depending on your skill level). Shorter hike up to Gold Lake and back.
Amazing Mountain Biking trails, hiking, snow hike or skinning on Emerald Mountain. Get outfitted for your mountain bike at Ski Haus or Wheel Bike Shop (downtown).
Hiking, biking, leaf viewing, camping on Buff Pass
LAKES, LAKES, LAKES - in Clark (about 30 minute drive from Steamboat) there is Pearl Lake, Steamboat Lake State Park, Hahns Peak Lake. Stand Up Paddle Board rental at Pearl Lake, get all of your river and lake needs with local gear HALA
Get a view of the valley from up high with Wild West Balloon Tours!
Local Roaster Big Iron Coffee has 2 locations, downtown and on the west side of town. Great tasting coffee, yummy breakfast burritos, and grab some beans for back home! At the west side location, check out Wave Brewing Co for locally made Kombucha.
Beard & Braid has a lovely atmosphere and fantastic artisanal lattes, located downtown.
Off The Beaten Path is a locally owned, independent bookstore with a cafe inside. Find a variety of coffee and tea drinks and baked goods. It has a sitting area upstairs.
Between the mountain and Caelen’s office is The Dusky Grouse, enjoy homemade treats, breakfast sandwiches and a variety of coffee drinks, hot or cold.
For later in the evening, check out these spots. Most bars create great mocktails as well, or have NA options available.
Mythology Distillery (west end of town, shuttle) - they have soup dumplings as well to go with their award winning spirits!
The Barley (downtown) - great spot for grabbing a beer, cozy tables and a wide selection. A wide variety of NA drinks as well.
Foxes is a speakeasy lounge and wine bar hidden between Yampa street and the alley. The owner/bartender won Best of the Boat for bartending and a specialty cocktail. If you’re into fancy and unique cocktails, this is your place!
